AmeriStamp Sign-A-Rama Signs of Support Plaque presentation to the Evansville PhilharmonicThe mission of the Evansville Philharmonic is to engage our community in the powerful experience of live symphonic music. The theme for the 2010-2011 concert season has been Enjoy “Out Of This World Music”, Down To Earth Prices which has made the exquisite music of the Evansville Philharmonic accessible to a much wider audience.

On Monday, we presented the board of the Evansville Philharmonic with their congratulatory Signs of Support Grant Recipient plaque. What a fun group of folks dedicated to music and to the Evansville community! At board meetings, a common practice is to have a simple paper nameplate in front of each person for easy identification. The backs of these nameplates are usually blank. However, this is what the back of the Philharmonic’s nameplates looked like:
Evansville Philharmonic Mission Statement
Throughout the meeting, every member is continually reminded of their mission. I’ve been a part of board meetings and strategy planning meetings where we get so far from our intended mission that the entire meeting is a wasted venture. With their mission staring at them, I suspect the Evansville Philharmonic spends their time laser focused on the intended objectives. Well played, Evansville Philharmonic, well played.

If you’ve never been to the Evansville Philharmonic, there are still plenty of aurally satisfying events to enjoy in 2011. Check out their schedule.

Did you know: when AmeriStamp Sign-A-Rama owner, Walter Valiant, was a young boy, he played the viola.
