RTA Vinyl Install DiagramRTA vinyl = Ready To Apply vinyl. Just because the vinyl is ready to apply, doesn’t mean that it will just jump on the surface. Here’s how to install your vinyl:

  1. Clean surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, oils, wax, etc. Vinyl letters will not stick to some plastic laminates, surfaces containing silicone, or surfaces coated, cleaned or treated with a solution containing silicone. Vinyl letters will not stick to porous surfaces: unpainted wood, concrete and some vinyl wall coverings. Please pretest the application to surface(s) where you may have concern.
  2. Use 1″ – 2″ (2.5 – 5cm) strips of masking tape to position marking in proper registry.
  3. Apply horizontal tape hinge at the top of the marking.
  4. Remove liner entirely and allow marking to drape. Using firm initial squeegee pressure, begin at top center and work down and outward to each edge of mask.
  5. Remove pre-mask at 180° (pull back on liner). Re-squeegee entire graphic.

Air temperature and application surface temperature must be above 40deg F for best application.
